Criminal prosecution
Anna Bazhutova was arrested on August 16, 2023. The basis for her criminal prosecution was a stream she conducted in June 2023, where she read accounts from residents of Bucha, during which she also wrote on a cardboard that 300 people in the city were killed by Russian soldiers, and said the phrase, “Death to Russian occupiers.” A recording of the stream was shared in Z-channels like “Men’s Legion”, where Anna (known as YokoBovich on Twitch) was harassed, with calls for viewers to file complaints against her with the police. She began receiving death threats from unknown callers. Following the harassment, Anna deleted her Twitch channel but continued posting on her small Telegram channel.
Anna has health issues, including a stomach ulcer and borderline personality disorder, which manifests in symptoms such as anger, aggression, panic attacks, self-harm, depression, and destructive behavior.
