Help the defendants in the “Tyumen case” to ensure their defense in June!
The trial of the torture “Tyumen case” in the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg has been going on for a whole year. During this time, 25 sessions have been held, and 5 more are scheduled for June. Each of these days are not just numbers, they are the fates of people who are fighting for their freedom.
In April, the collection cards received 72,300 ₽. We sincerely thank you, dear comrades. This amount was raised thanks to your invaluable help and solidarity. At the moment, 270,000 ₽ remains on the collection cards. Unfortunately, this money is not enough to cover the defense costs.
We need to raise another 350,000 ₽ within a month! In June, defense costs will be at least 620,000 ₽.
515,000 ₽ needs to be paid to the lawyers for attending five trials, and 105,000 ₽ for lodging and ticket expenses. For us, every penny counts!
We remind you that from August 30 to September 1, 2022, six anarchists and anti-fascists were detained in Surgut, Yekaterinburg and Tyumen. They were subjected to brutal torture: electric shocks, water, beatings and threats of sexual violence. Based on their testimony, they were charged with “creation and participation in a terrorist community” (Article 205.4 of the Russian Criminal Code), and later the charges were toughened. Kirill Brik, who made a deal with the investigation, has already been sentenced to eight years in prison.
The other defendants do not admit their guilt. The case of Roma Paklin was also resumed and is being considered separately from the other defendants in the “Tyumen case”. He and the other defendants face 15 to 30 years in prison. Nikita Oleinik, who is considered an “organizer” in the case, could face up to life imprisonment.
At the moment we are paying for the work of five lawyers defending Nikita Oleynik, Yury Neznamov, Danil Chertykov, Deniz Aydin and Roman Paklin. Expenses include business trips, visits to pre-trial detention centers, accommodation and tickets - our defenders come from different cities with the sole purpose: to help our guys.

We are truly grateful for your support! Thanks to you, we have been successfully managing to pay for our comrades' attorneys for over two years now. We believe that the court will not be able to ignore the evidence of innocence of the defendants of the “Tyumen case” and hope that we will be able to change the fate of our friends.
